At SaaSGuard Review, every recommendation comes from real, hands-on testing – never from a vendor’s marketing page. This is exactly how we work, so you know what’s behind each verdict.
How we pick the tools we review
We focus on SaaS and AI tools built for small businesses in the US. Before a tool makes it onto the site, we check that it’s actively maintained, used by real small businesses, and relevant to one of our core topics (CRM, invoicing, email, AI, automation). We don’t review tools just because they have an affiliate program.
How we test – real tasks, not specs
We sign up like any small business owner would, then run each tool through the actual jobs you’d use it for: setting up a pipeline, sending a campaign, building an automation. We spend real time inside the product. Our verdicts come from what the tool does in practice, not from feature lists or press releases.
How we score every tool
Every tool is rated on the same criteria: ease of setup, day-to-day usability, real value for the price, quality of support, and how well it fits a small team. We weigh these consistently so two reviews can be compared fairly.
Honest pricing, in USD
We show what you’ll actually pay, in US dollars. That means flagging hidden fees, features locked behind higher tiers, annual-only discounts, and the upgrade triggers vendors don’t advertise. If a “free” plan isn’t really usable, we say so.
How we stay independent
We make money through affiliate links: if you buy a tool through one of our links, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This never changes our scores or rankings. We are not paid by vendors for placement, and a tool cannot buy a better review. When a tool isn’t worth your money, we tell you straight.
Who writes our reviews
Our reviews are written and tested by Fedora, Katie, Daniel Parker, James Wilson and Michael Carter – a small team that works hands-on with SaaS and AI tools for small businesses. Fedora leads the editorial team and specializes in researching, testing, and reviewing software solutions for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Found something wrong?
We keep our reviews up to date and revisit them as tools change. If you spot an error or a price that’s out of date, contact us – we’ll check it.
